Prosen | Collector's Lunch & Artist Talk

To celebrate Oran Wishart’s solo exhibition PROSEN, we invited collectors along with artists to join us for a talk by Wishart and a celebratory lunch at 11 Caledonian Road.

The lunch was courtesy of Paulo Garcia, who is usually found behind the stoves at St. John. Offering his own take on PROSEN, he curated a menu that had a deep respect for place and origin, serving seasonal ingredients that connected to Glen Prosen - the namesake of the show.

A special thanks also goes out to Bothy Distillery who supplied a bottle of their yummy Gunshot Infused Gin for our aperitif cocktail and Great Glen Charcuterie who supplied delicious sliced smoked venison for our main.

We are delighted that Bothy Distillery were able to partner with us, not only because they are in Glen Prosen, but because of their deep respect for the land that Wishart holds so dear and references continuously in his work. Their sustainable practices are seen in their own hydroelectric scheme, using water from the hills to generate electricity as well as their no-waste commitment - draff becomes feed and fertiliser for local farms and water waste goes to a local AD plant. As they put it "Nature is our neighbour - everything we do is about working in balance with the glen and making sure people, wildlife, and landscape all thrive together."

Great Glen Charcuterie is another example of people that work with the land. Based in a glen north of Fort William, they turn local wild culled venison into artisanal charcuterie.
