In December 2015 Glasgow’s Tramway will be hosting one of the most important and prestigious awards for the visual arts in Europe, the Turner Prize. BROTH art aims to curate an exhibition in Glasgow that runs alongside the Turner Prize, providing a platform for fellow contemporary artists from Scotland. The exhibition will utilize the fresh wave of attention, garnered by the Turner prize, in contemporary Glaswegian art to provoke debate about why this grandiose, grandiloquent and sometimes rough-and-ready city has produced so many brilliant artists and continues to do so.

The exhibition called Entelechy:Glasgow will feature a group of multi-disciplinary artists based in Scotland – all with a strong association with Glasgow. We are seeking eight artists, characterized by their chutzpah, articulacy and humour to represent all that is dynamic about Glasgow and its inherent relationship with the arts. From the traditional to contemporary, classical to conceptual and applied to performance, we hope to represent a broad spectrum of artistic disciplines.

BROTH invites artists to submit a (300 - 1000 word) proposal with examples of previous and current work. They will also be asked to present an outline of proposed material costs. Successful candidates will in addition have the opportunity of their work being represented by BROTH art for one year.

Deadline: 6th of February
